SmartPlayhouse

Kyoto

Inspired by contemporary architecture the SmartPlayhouse is architect David Lamolla Kristiansen’s answer to providing a modern, comfortable and safe play space for his daughter. The four playhouse versions, Kyoto, Casaforum, Hobikken, Illinois, are unique spaces that encourage creativity.

Somewhere between LEGO architecture and the real thing (version Kyoto was inspired by Japanese avant-garde architecture like Mikimoto and version Illinois reminiscent of Mies’ Farnsworth House, was inspired by the Modern Movement of the mid 20th century) the SmartPlayhouse gives kids the opportunity to experience modern architecture at their own scale.

The quick assembly, thirty minutes to five hours depending on which play house, requires a little DIY experience and only one other set of hands. Check out the installation video of one of their indoor playhouses.
